Equipment classes have now arrived, available at both
our Edmonton and Sherwood Park locations.

The Universal Reformer is the most popular piece of Pilates equipment due to its:

  • versatility - over 200 exercises
  • accessibility - material addresses most injuries/conditions
  • physicality - provides an energizing workout for the whole body
  • weight resistance - a key component in building bone mass, muscle tone and challenging core strength

The Reformer was developed by Joseph Pilates as an expansion of the original matwork, and it continues to be the most popular piece of Pilates equipment today.

The Cadillac (or Trap Table) puts many of the Mat Work exercises into a weight-resistent environment. The Cadillac specializes in creating more mobility, and increases overall flexibility.

The weight resistant environment of these two pieces of equipment allow for a more specific strength training experience. In that sense, the equipment can help clients improve their matwork, building up their strength to be able to perform more advanced material with greater ease.

The equipment is also ideal for muscle specific rehabilitation exercises, and can help with shoulder, hip and knee rehabilitation in a way that the matwork alone cannot.

Like the Mat Classes, the Equipment Classes at Integration will have 4 different levels to accommodate all needs and abilities.

Benefits of adding Equipment Classes to your fitness routine:

  • unique system of spring weight resistance provides a challenge and a support, allowing your body to go further than it could on its own
  • muscle tone develops much quicker than with matwork alone
  • variations on material from class to class keeps your mind and body engaged

Our instructors work at giving specific and thorough details so you can work out properly and safely, and get the most out of your class.

Those with matwork or equipment experience can start at a level equivalent to their current class level. Speak to an instructor if you require assistance in finding the right level for you.
