When can I start?
Anytime.
Throughout the year we offer four different Pilates Sessions: Winter (January – March), Spring, (April – June), Summer (July – August), and Fall (September – December). Ideally you should start your Pilates classes at the beginning of a new session, however it is possible to start during the current session. If you have a restrictive injury we recommend taking a Private Lesson prior to registering in a class. If you would like to book a Private you can do so anytime.
How do I register?
All you need to do is contact our office staff via phone or e-mail. Or just stop by.
In order to hold your spot in a specific class you must register by pre-paying for the session. If you are going to miss classes or you are starting mid-session we can pro-rate your registration payment. We do accept drop-ins to our registered classes, but please call to book in advance so that we can ensure space in the class.
What do I need to wear / bring?
All you need is non-restrictive clothing.
Pilates is done in regular fitness attire. No footwear is required. We recommend either bare feet or our Pilates toe-sox with a non-slip sole. We supply all of the equipment so you do not need to bring your own mat, however if you would like to use your own mat please feel free.
What happens if I miss a class?
You can make up a missed class in any of our other classes, provided there is space.
When you register for a session you are pre-paying for all of the classes in that session. We do allow you to make-up any missed classes but it MUST be done within that session. Anytime that you have to miss a class please inform office staff as soon as possible.
MAT CLASSES – If you have to make-up a mat class please contact our office staff and we can put your name on the attendance list for one of the other classes provided there is space.
EQUIPMENT CLASSES – We post the equipment class lists at the studio, if you have to miss or make up a class you can make the adjustments on the schedule yourself or call and inform the office staff. At the end of each session we hold equipment make-up classes to help ensure that you can complete your class card within the session.
What alternatives are there to classes?
We offer Private Lessons and Open Workout Time.
PRIVATE LESSONS – If you require a customized workout suited to your specific needs and goals then we recommend private lessons. Each private lesson is 55 minutes long. We encourage you to take at least 4 private lessons to establish a good foundation and workout program. Office staff must book all private lessons. We require 24 hours notice for all private lesson cancellations.
OPEN WORKOUT TIME – Once you have completed 4 privates, Open Time allows you to come into the studio and work on your own personalized program under the supervision of an instructor. Open Workouts are an hour long and must be scheduled. We require 24 hours notice for any open workout cancellations.
What if I have an injury?
We recommend private lessons to start.
Private lessons will provide the opportunity for an instructor to evaluate the severity of your injury and give you the appropriate exercises to build strength in your weak areas. We then will be able to recommend the appropriate pathway for you to take in your future Pilates training. The equipment classes tend to be more suitable for most injured clients because the spring resistance helps to provide more support.
What if I am pregnant?
Make sure that you speak to a doctor before beginning any exercise program.
We recommend an initial private lesson in order for us to to complete an evaluation. Classes are possible during the 1st and 2nd trimesters, with some modifications. If you have been doing Pilates already, it is recommended that you enroll in a lower level class to avoid strain.
What is your policy on refunds?
All sessions and bulk packages are non-refundable. Medical emergencies and special circumstances will be taken into consideration.
