Testimonials from our Clients
Elysia J: A big thank you to the patient, expert instructors at Integration who got me started in Pilates and gave me an exercise that has improved my physical and spiritual well-being. Joseph Pilates was right - a balanced body and mind leads to a peaceful existence!
Yvette F: I had a car accident in the fall of 2005 and had damage to my back, shoulder, neck, and knees. I went to physio but I was still using a cane. A friend suggested trying Pilates – so I found Integration. I remember trying to climb the stairs the first time and how difficult it was. I did private [lessons] for 7 months before I could join a class. Eventually, I was able to get rid of the cane [almost entirely]; it’s rare that I have to use it now. I can stand on one leg again. Best of all, no stairs can defeat me!
Sandra B: I saw in a movie long ago a scene with Bette Midler entwined in a spring-loaded machine (later I would learn it was a trap table) struggling to control her limbs as the springs flung her about. I laughed so hard my abs hurt (ironic, perhaps?). Fast forward more than a decade, I decided to get going with Pilates to complement my yoga practice. I had more fun than if Bette had been there with me putting on a show. I “Pilate-ed” myself into a lean mean trap table machine in no time. And to my delight and (unexpected) amazement, while trying on my wedding gown for my final fitting, I noticed in the mirror these wonderfully sculpted, defined, sexy shoulders and back muscles; they were mine!!! Pilates was so fun it could not be [a serious work[out], but there was the evidence in the mirror, framed by the delicate lace of my gown. From that day forward I was hooked!
Kathy B: I stumbled upon an ad for Integration while lying on the couch following my third hip surgery. It was exactly what I needed! Four years later I still visit the studio 3 times a week. I have been able to drastically cut back on painkillers. I rarely use my cane, and I dropped the 30 pounds I gained during my 8-month couch ride! I ♥ Pilates!
Kristina H: When my chiropractor recommended that I try Pilates, I started at Integration. It’s been everything I expected and so much more! It alleviates my back pain and strengthens my muscles. The instructors are always sure to let me know if an exercise can be modified to be easier on my back. Pilates is both challenging and rewarding. I am becoming stronger and more in control of my body with every class. Thank you, Integration!
Connie K: I had a very bad fall years ago and hurt my back. I was unable to do many things that I enjoyed in life as well as everyday things, like carrying a basket of laundry. I was determined to get my life back; I was going to massages daily, physiotherapy continuously - nothing [helped]. I heard about Pilates from my doctor. Integration gave me a consultation and I started with private lessons. It took a long time before I was able to go into group classes, and I still have ongoing issues. In saying that, I have more strength, flexibility, and even though my family does not think so, coordination. I have a quality of life that I thought I would never be able to have again. There are no words that can explain my feelings about what Pilates has done for me. I will forever be indebted to all of the staff at Integration.
Kathy K: The first result after I started Pilates 7 years ago was that I began Pilates breathing during hard tasks. I’d fire my abs (which were hiding after 6 pregnancies) before heavy lifting or even walking. Next, persistent back pain melted away over time. Then I noticed what I thought was long lost: muscle definition! In the last few years, I’ve added yoga to Pilates. The combination of mind-body and core exercise is stabilizing.
Cindy L: I'm lucky that my 2 back operations were cancelled as it forced me to find non-invasive solutions to incapacitating back pain, which had arisen suddenly from a cyst in my lumbar spine. After initial laser therapy to quell the unbearable pain, I found my ideal maintenance solution in mat Pilates, which seems tailor-made to keep me mobile. The instructors teach you to feel subtle movements and adjustments in the spine. Pilates is now a lifetime commitment!
Alma S: Pilates and cardio-dance are my attempt to find work-life balance. I’m healthier and happier as a result. I am an overweight workaholic with 6 screws, 4 plates, a bone graph in my back; a rerouted tendon through my ankle bone; severe arthritis in both knees, and scar tissue in my shoulder. I may not be able to do everything [in classes] but the staff is great at providing options. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Thank you, Integration staff for your encouragement and support. Your classes continue to challenge and motivate me through good and bad days.
Carrie R: Joining Integration 5 years ago was the start to a life transformation for me. It is strange to think that 5 years ago I was 30 pounds heavier, could barely balance on one leg, and lacked the confidence to even walk into a gym. Now I am in the best shape of my life. I have returned to competitive dancing, I am full of energy, and I have become a fitness instructor. I owe my passion for fitness to the amazing instructors at Integration. They have taught me the importance of a balanced body, mind, and spirit. This teaching truly has made Integration a place of inspiration for me.
